About Us

Balambala Camel Milk Producers and Marketing Cooperative Society is a collective of 67 Common Interest Groups comprising 1,030 members (700 women, 330 men) in Garissa County. Registered in 2021 under the Cooperative Societies Act, we specialize in processing and marketing fresh camel milk and value-added products like fermented milk (Susa), flavored yogurt, and sour camel milk.

Transforming Communities

At Balambala Camel Milk Cooperative, we measure success not just in profits but in positive change. With 40% profit margins benefiting our 1,030 members, we provide nutrition to schools and households across 8 wards while creating employment opportunities in Garissa County. Our products combat malnutrition, support lactating mothers, and strengthen local economies.

We are equally committed to environmental stewardship. Through land restoration efforts (targeting 50 hectares), water harvesting projects, and biodiversity conservation (including goat milk integration), we ensure sustainable practices that protect Garissa’s fragile ecosystems. By balancing community prosperity with ecological responsibility, we’re building a resilient future for pastoralist families.
